Dear Members,

John and I finally got our 1975 MGB back from repairs last week after we were rear-ended on our way to the April driving event.
Unfortunately that little mishap caused us to be absent from the last three driving events. We are excited to be up and running and hosting the next event on Saturday, August 6 2016!
We are planning another Poker Run style drive again this year. We’ll meet at the DMACC Ankeny Campus at 11:00am with plans to depart by 11:30am. The DMACC campus is located on the corner of SW Oralabor Road and
South Ankeny Blvd (Hwy 69) in Ankeny. We would like you to enter the campus from Oralabor Road by turning north onto South DMACC Blvd. There is a large parking lot on the right side that will be our gathering place. I am including a screen shot of the area with this email and the parking lot is the large football shape with the purple pin.
After your arrival at DMACC please find me and John at our gold 1975 MGB. John will be waving a Union Jack flag to make us easier to find. We will get your car checked-in for the event and give you instructions for the run. We’ll depart and wind our way through the back roads of Northern Polk, Eastern Boone and Southern Story counties on an 80 mile loop. Without divulging too much info, our first stop on the run will give us the chance to purchase a bite of lunch and refreshments. We’ll make several stops along the way so you can take 5 required photos in order to get the 5 cards for your poker hand. We’ll end up back in Ankeny at our house to enjoy some traditional English snacks and beverages in our basement pub The Flying Pheasant.
